Republican Party of the Eight Congressional District of Wisconsin

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT THERE IS HEREBY CALLED, a DISTRICT CAUCUS pursuant to Article VI of the Constitution of the Eighth Congressional District Republican Party of Wisconsin, to be held at Schussler’s Supper Club, W3529 State Hwy. B, Peshtigo, Wisconsin 54157, commencing at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2010, for the transaction of the following business:

1. To promulgate and adopt the reports of committees on Credentials, Rules, Platform and Resolutions.

2. To elect district representatives to the Republican Party of Wisconsin State Convention committees on Credentials, Rules and Resolutions to serve until the adjournment of the regular district caucus in 2011.

3. To transact any other business that may be necessary to obtain the objectives of the Republican Party of Wisconsin and of the Republican Party of the Eighth Congressional District of Wisconsin

2010 Republican State Convention

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT THERE IS HEREBY CALLED STATE CONVENTION, as provided in Article VIII of the Constitution of theRepublican Party of Wisconsin, to be held at the Hyatt Regency at 333 W.Kilbourn Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, commencing at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010, for the purpose of transacting the following business:

1. To promulgate and adopt reports from the committees on Credentials,
Rules, Resolutions, and Platform.
2. To conduct an endorsement vote for each of the five state
constitutional offices and the United States Senate as provided in
Article III, Section 2 of the Constitution of the Republican Party of
Wisconsin.
3. To hear reports from party leaders, elected officials, and other invited
speakers.
4. To transact any other business that may be necessary to gain the
objectives of the Republican Party of Wisconsin
This CALL TO CONVENTION was unanimously passed at the December
5, 2009, meeting of the State Executive Committee held in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin.

The annual county caucus (meeting) will be on Monday, Feb. 1 at the Casco branch of the Bank of Luxemburg at 7pm. As you know, some officers and the county delegates will be elected, resolutions will be voted on (these are then coordinated with the 8th district counties, which then are sent to the state for the state convention to vote on, which influence the platform and directions the party should take. Many candidates are invited to attend as well. Really the grass roots of politics.

Also, the annual Lincoln Day event will be a luncheon on Sunday March 28th at 1pm at Northbrook Country club ($25), which is the party’s main fundraiser.  Alan Lasee will be the honored guest at this. We will have many candidates this year and will be asked to help them in their campaigns, and this income makes it possible for us to contribute as a party to the winners of the primary election in Sept.

The LRWC membership is open to Republican women in Kewaunee County and nearby counties as well,  with a $20 annual dues, and associate membership (nonvoting -supporting memberships for men and other women who belong to other clubs, but want to support our club as well) for $15/year. We are affiliated with the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) and the Wisconsin Federation of Republican Women (WFRW).  I am the club president, and can be reached at 845-5630, or N6235 School Creek Trail, Luxemburg 54217. This club meets about 5 times each year. This year we will be inviting candidates for office to come and speak to us, along with some timely topics about the elections and government issues. smitbun@centurytel.net
