A typical example of this is Barack Obama and his team of environmental advisors. It is this group which championed the cap and trade legislation that will lead to higher energy prices for all Americans. (Yes… another “tax” that they aren’t calling a tax, but we covered that yesterday.) In a recent statement, Obama’s Energy Secretary Steven Chu likened the American people to teenagers who need the proper “adult” supervision when it comes to the environment. In other words, put your faith (and freedom) in government. Read the rest of this entry »

Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wi.): Hiding Spending Doesn’t Reduce Spending
Posted by Ron Heuer, Feb 26, 2010
Wisconsinites can be proud of Congressman Paul Ryan as he was chosen to represent the Republican side at the Obama Health Care summit yesterday. The following copy are excerpts from Congressman Ryan’s address. The entire address is posted below with a U-Tube video.
Ryan is the Budget Committee Ranking Member, and he walked through why the bill put forward by Democrats FAILS the Presidents deficit test. As according to Obama,
“I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits — either now or in the future.” (Remarks by President Obama to a Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009)

The Other Stupid Things John Brennan Said
Posted by Michelle Malkin, February 17, 2010
It’s bad enough that John Brennan, President Obama’s national security deputy, thinks Gitmo jihadi recidivism is “not that bad.” But in his talk last week with Islamic law students at New York University, Brennan made even more reckless comments about our counterterrorism programs while pandering to one of the worst Muslim grievance-mongers and sharia peddlers in America.
During the question-and-answer session, Brennan welcomed a question from Omar Shahin. He identified himself as the head of the “North American Imams Federation.” What he didn’t mention was his role as the chief ringleader of the infamous flying imams. You remember them: They were the six Muslim clerics whose suspicious behavior — provocatively shouting “Allahu Akbar!” before boarding the plane, fanning out in the cabin before take-off, refusing to sit in their assigned seats, requesting seat-belt extenders, which they placed on the floor — led to their removal by a U.S. Airways crew in 2006. Scott Brown gave a great victory speech last night after a tremendous victory.
He is an attractive, articulate, courageous, hard working candidate.
He had the courage to serve for years in a small minority in the Massachusetts legislature.
He had the courage to serve for 20 years and become a lieutenant colonel in the Massachusetts Army Reserve. Read the rest of this entry »
The ‘Government’ is Smarter than You about the Environment
Posted by Bobby Eberle, September 23, 2009 at 7:08 am
We all know the mindset of the left-wing elite… put a few of the “chosen ones” together, and they will decide what is best for the rest of the country. They believe that Americans are idiots and it is up to them to save the country by having the government take over as much as possible.

Shoreland Zoning - Analyzing NR115
Posted by State Representative Kevin Petersen, July 31, 2009
Wisconsin’s current shoreland zoning rules have been in effect since January of 1968. They regulate the development within 300 feet of a river and 1,000 feet of a lake or the flood plain high water mark, whichever is greater, in all unincorporated areas of the state. Like most government regulation, the rules cause discontent for property owners and regulators.
Since 1998, the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has been working on a rewrite of Wisconsin Administrative Code, Natural Resources Chapter 115 (Shoreland Zoning). According to the DNR, the new rule, a product of tens of thousands of public comments and numerous statewide hearings, would protect lakes and rivers by providing more flexibility for property owners and by streamlining the permitting process. Are They Real?
Posted by: State Representative Kevin Petersen - June 4, 2009
We’ve all heard the philosophical question asking “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?” Concurrently, if the governor has a tax increasing press conference or if the Joint Finance Committee raises taxes while Wisconsinites are enjoying a holiday weekend, are the additional taxes real?
After meeting just twice during the month of May, Joint Finance Committee co-chairs Representative Mark Pocan (D – Madison) and Senator Mark Miller (D – Monona) scheduled meetings and budgetary votes for the Friday and Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Read the rest of this entry »

The Price We Pay for not Supporting Miguel Estrada
Posted by Bobby Eberle May 29, 2009 at 7:27 am
With Obama’s nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the U.S. Supreme Court, Obama has found the perfect combination. He has found a nominee who will be every bit as liberal and activist as he could hope for, and also, he has found someone in which to score tremendous political points.
In a previous column, I have already touched on Sotomayor’s judicial background. However, it is this very background that is being ignored by the main stream media. Instead, we hear stories of “rising up” from poverty and “reaching out” to the community, and, of course, we hear stories of her Hispanic heritage and what an asset that is. All of this fits perfectly into Obama’s plan of reaching out to Hispanics. The fastest growing voting bloc in the entire country is being presented with “their” nominee. What’s so sad from a political point of view is that all of this could have been accomplished with OUR nominee… Miguel Estrada. Read the rest of this entry »
Cheney Shows the Way
Dick Cheney is giving the Republican Party a demonstration of how to fight a popular president. Stake out defensible high ground, do not surrender an inch, then go onto the attack.
The ground on which Cheney has chosen to stand is the most defensible the Republicans have: homeland security. In seven-and-a-half years after 9-11, not one terrorist attack struck our country.
And, unlike Obama’s position, Cheney’s is 100 percent reality based. He was there. He lived through this. He made the decisions to use the harsher techniques on the worst of the enemy who could yield the greatest
intelligence to save American lives. Read the rest of this entry »
