Following the election victories in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts and Obama’s continuing slide in the polls, I thought it would be a waste of time for Republicans to participate in Obama’s healthcare dog and pony show — a.k.a. Health Care Summit. Let him continue on his free fall… pushing policies that run counter to the essence of what it means to be an American. That was my thought. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon ObamaCare: Same Song, Second Verse

Posted by Bobby Eberle, February 23, 2010 at 9:04 am

After being rocked by election defeats in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts and the growing public disapproval of his health care takeover, Obama and congressional Democrats were reeling. The American people had spoken, and what they said was Obama was taking the country in the wrong direction with the wrong approach.

Obama and the Democrats paused for a bit. We started to wonder if they had seen the light. Was ObamaCare dead? Obama then stated he wanted to “reach out” to Republicans… get their input and suggestions on health care. He even proposed a health care “summit” for this Thursday. Then… he released his “updated” plan. He rejected conservative input and has put forward the same kind of scheme as before. We didn’t want more government before, and we certainly don’t want it now! PostHeaderIcon Democrat State Senator Admits State Budget Contained Enough Tax and Fee Hikes to Sink a Battleship

Posted by WISGOP Communications, Feb 6, 2010

“Even the Democrats who voted for the disastrous state budget are complaining about all of the hidden tax and fee increases…”

MADISON – E-mails obtained by Richard Moore, an investigative reporter for the Lakeland Times, revealed one state lawmaker’s candid thoughts on the 2009-11 state budget Democrats approved in June of 2009. State Senator Jim Holperin (D-Conover) told a constituent the budget Democrats voted for contained “enough little tax and fee hikes to sink a good sized battleship.” Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Pelosi and Reid Plot Secret Plan for Obamacare

Postec by Dick Morris & Eileen McGann, Sunday, 24 Jan 2010

Highly informed sources on Capitol Hill have revealed to me details of the Democratic plan to sneak Obamacare through Congress, despite collapsing public approval for healthcare “reform” and disintegrating congressional support in the wake of Republican Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts.

President Obama, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid all have agreed to the basic framework of the plan. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Dem Senator Feingold out of touch with constituency

Posted by Ron Heuer, Jan 15, 2010

Wisconsin Senator Russ Feingold once again shows how out of touch he is with the Wisconsin Electorate. He appeared in Pewaukee Wisconsin for a “listening session” and he got an earful. This is for me, this video is reminiscent of the same message Congressmen Steve Kagen heard this past summer at his “listening sessions”. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Accounting Principles

Posted by State Representative Kevin Peterson, Jan 11, 2010

According to a report released by the Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance, the generally accepted accounting principles state deficit for the 2008-09 fiscal year hit $2.71 billion.

The $2.71 billion figure was calculated using data from the 2008 – 2009 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report published in December by the Wisconsin Department of Administration. Read the rest of this entry »

December 18, 2009

Seems like only yesterday the Washington establishment had proclaimed the death of the GOP. Pundits churned out public autopsy reports faster than the L.A. County Medical Examiner. Liberals gloated over the supposedly irreparable fissures between right-wing populists and Beltway Republican elites. Conservatism, we were told, was suffering brain death and heart failure. My, how quickly things — ahem — change.

Social conservatives, fiscal conservatives, the GOP leadership, Sarah Palin’s heartland supporters, conservative think-tank intellectuals, D.C. and Manhattan conservatives, Big Business and small-business conservatives, Joe the Plumber conservatives, and every stripe and flavor of conservative in between are all united against the Democrats’ proposed government takeover of health care. All. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Veterans Pay the Cost for Governor Doyle’s Policies

Posted by Rep Kevin Peterson, December 4, 2009

Recently, Wisconsin’s Department of Justice released their final investigative report into overexpenditures at the King Veterans Home.  According to the report, no criminal violations occurred within King or the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA).  However, it did cite communication concerns within the Department.

Partly based on those concerns, the Veterans Affairs Board fired Secretary Scocos and appointed then Assistant Secretary Ken Black as Department Secretary on November 24, 2009

PostHeaderIcon Only Wisconsin Democrats Could Think a $5 Billion Tax Hike is an Improvement!

Posted by RPW Communications, November 30, 2009

Taxpayers in Wisconsin know the truth about their record on taxes, and it will come back to haunt Democrats in 2010 no matter how many times they try to pat their own backs.

MADISON – Democrats are still oblivious to the plight of Wisconsin taxpayers, according to Republican Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Mark Jefferson. Read the rest of this entry »

Wausau Democrat Says When You’ve Got a Problem, Raise a Tax!

MADISON – With government spending and debt increasing at an accelerating pace and the nation’s unemployment over 10%, Wisconsin Congressman David Obey is suggesting a new tax in an attempt to stymie progress in Afghanistan.

“Not surprisingly, the first solution from Dave Obey is a tax,” said Mark Jefferson, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “If you’re Dave Obey, why bother working to root out stimulus spending errors or even trim down wasteful government spending when you can just tax your way to paying for whatever you need–even if it’s to keep our nation safe from terrorists.”

Obey told media outlets earlier this week he would pay for increased troop levels in Afghanistan with a $900 billion new tax on “people who can afford it.”

Jefferson suggested Obey may be echoing the strategy of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel who said earlier this year, “You never want to waste a good crisis.”

“Most Americans want to see the situation in Afghanistan resolved the way our generals have suggested. Instead, Obey has turned the situation into one more excuse to tax,” Jefferson said.
