Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Wi.): Hiding Spending Doesn’t Reduce Spending
Posted by Ron Heuer, Feb 26, 2010
Wisconsinites can be proud of Congressman Paul Ryan as he was chosen to represent the Republican side at the Obama Health Care summit yesterday. The following copy are excerpts from Congressman Ryan’s address. The entire address is posted below with a U-Tube video.
Ryan is the Budget Committee Ranking Member, and he walked through why the bill put forward by Democrats FAILS the Presidents deficit test. As according to Obama,
“I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits — either now or in the future.” (Remarks by President Obama to a Joint Session of Congress, September 9, 2009)

Obama: Arrogance Run Amuck
Following the election victories in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts and Obama’s continuing slide in the polls, I thought it would be a waste of time for Republicans to participate in Obama’s healthcare dog and pony show — a.k.a. Health Care Summit. Let him continue on his free fall… pushing policies that run counter to the essence of what it means to be an American. That was my thought. Read the rest of this entry »
Election 2010: Wisconsin Governor - GOP Still Holds The Edge
Posted by Ron Heuer, Feb 23, 2010
We sorely need a Governor in this state that is going to rein in the insane spending the current Democrat Governor has endorsed and promulgated. Scott Walker appears to be the candidate who has the experience in balancing budgets without raising taxes. Scott’s experience in Milwaunee County is proof of that.
Right now GOP Candidate Scott Walker is squarely in the lead and GOP Candidate Mark Neuman is also a strong challenger to Democrat Tom Barrett in the contest for Wisconsin governor Following are the latest Rasmussen Reports Survey….
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds Walker leading Barrett, the mayor of Milwaukee, by nine points – 49% to 40%. Last month, in the first Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 survey of the race, Walker posted a 48% to 38% lead over Barrett. Read the rest of this entry »
ObamaCare: Same Song, Second Verse
Posted by Bobby Eberle, February 23, 2010 at 9:04 am
After being rocked by election defeats in New Jersey, Virginia, and Massachusetts and the growing public disapproval of his health care takeover, Obama and congressional Democrats were reeling. The American people had spoken, and what they said was Obama was taking the country in the wrong direction with the wrong approach.
Obama and the Democrats paused for a bit. We started to wonder if they had seen the light. Was ObamaCare dead? Obama then stated he wanted to “reach out” to Republicans… get their input and suggestions on health care. He even proposed a health care “summit” for this Thursday. Then… he released his “updated” plan. He rejected conservative input and has put forward the same kind of scheme as before. We didn’t want more government before, and we certainly don’t want it now! It’s All the Tea Party’s Fault
Remember “Not Me”? He was the famous invisible cartoon gremlin in the newspaper comic strip “The Family Circus.” Whenever toys were left on the floor or other school-age disasters struck, the kids in the comic pointed their fingers at “Not Me.” Today, “Tea Party” is the juvenile left’s new “Not Me” — an all-purpose scapegoat for every crime and disaster.
On Thursday morning, a disturbed pilot flew a small plane into an Austin, Texas, office complex that contained an Internal Revenue Service office. Several workers in the building were injured, and Joseph Andrew Stack, the pilot, was killed in the crash. Local authorities suspect he set his house on fire — from which his wife and daughter escaped — before taking off on his deadly journey. Investigators found a Web posting, identified as Stack’s “suicide manifesto,” in which he railed against tax laws, inequity, government and crony capitalism. He also targeted “puppet” George W. Bush, murderous health care insurers and the pharmaceutical industry. Read the rest of this entry »
Democrats Increasing State Spending (Again) When Taxpayers Can Least Afford It (Again)
Posted by RPW Communications, Feb 17, 2010
Madison Democrats are callous enough to believe that statewide taxpayers and ratepayers can afford increases in spending during a recession.
MADISON – Democrats are at it again – saying one thing to the taxpayers but doing another when it comes time to vote. The Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee approved measures that will up the burden on Wisconsin taxpayers by millions each year, approving a high speed rail line between Milwaukee and the Madison airport whose operating costs will end up being subsidized by taxpayers statewide. In addition, Democrats on the Finance Committee approved a less publicized spending increase that reeks of cronyism and will increase electric bills. Read the rest of this entry »
The Other Stupid Things John Brennan Said
Posted by Michelle Malkin, February 17, 2010
It’s bad enough that John Brennan, President Obama’s national security deputy, thinks Gitmo jihadi recidivism is “not that bad.” But in his talk last week with Islamic law students at New York University, Brennan made even more reckless comments about our counterterrorism programs while pandering to one of the worst Muslim grievance-mongers and sharia peddlers in America.
During the question-and-answer session, Brennan welcomed a question from Omar Shahin. He identified himself as the head of the “North American Imams Federation.” What he didn’t mention was his role as the chief ringleader of the infamous flying imams. You remember them: They were the six Muslim clerics whose suspicious behavior — provocatively shouting “Allahu Akbar!” before boarding the plane, fanning out in the cabin before take-off, refusing to sit in their assigned seats, requesting seat-belt extenders, which they placed on the floor — led to their removal by a U.S. Airways crew in 2006. A Scam of Nuclear Proportions
Posted by State Representative Kevin Petersen, Feb 15, 2010
Nuclear power produces roughly 20% of electricity both in Wisconsin and the United States as a whole. Despite being only 1/5 of the nation’s energy, nuclear power accounts for 72% of the country’s carbon dioxide emission-free generation.
Within the United States are 104 operating nuclear reactors. Three sites are located in Wisconsin. The LaCrosse reactor in Genoa was permanently shut down in 1987. Kewaunee’s reactor is licensed to operate through 2013 with a 20 year license extension pending. Point Beach’s two reactors have operational licenses expiring in 2030 and 2033. Grassroots Activism: Left-wing, Radical Style
Posted by Bobby Eberle, February 10, 2010
One thing that I love about the Tea Party movement is that it’s a true grassroots endeavor. Just look back to last year… People were frustrated with Obama, the Democrats, and Washington in general. That frustration reached a boiling point. The word began to spread, and people assembled and showed that they weren’t going to take it any more.
The results have been nothing short of incredible. Two gubernatorial victories in New Jersey and Virginia were followed by the stunning upset victory of Scott Brown in Massachusetts. All of these were made possible in part through the anti-big-government, power to the people message that embodies the Tea Party movement. But watch out! Now the left-wing has had enough, and they are forming their own “grassroots” effort to stop the Tea Party momentum. However, it’s not grassroots at all. Read the rest of this entry »
Democrat State Senator Admits State Budget Contained Enough Tax and Fee Hikes to Sink a Battleship
Posted by WISGOP Communications, Feb 6, 2010
“Even the Democrats who voted for the disastrous state budget are complaining about all of the hidden tax and fee increases…”
MADISON – E-mails obtained by Richard Moore, an investigative reporter for the Lakeland Times, revealed one state lawmaker’s candid thoughts on the 2009-11 state budget Democrats approved in June of 2009. State Senator Jim Holperin (D-Conover) told a constituent the budget Democrats voted for contained “enough little tax and fee hikes to sink a good sized battleship.” Read the rest of this entry »
