PostHeaderIcon Are These The Actions Of A President Who Loves His Country?

Posted by Doug Patton, November 30, 2009

I have grown weary of pretending that Barack Obama has anything but disdain for the United States of America. So let us ask the question on all of our minds: Are the actions of this president those of a man committed to what is best for his country?

With small business, the engine of our economy, on the ropes, Obama and his myrmidons in Congress are trying to ram through a health care reform bill that will, in the words of Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn, bring about our “fiscal ruin.” Is this the action of a president committed to doing what is best for his country? Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon RPW: Obey serious: A war tax?

Wausau Democrat Says When You’ve Got a Problem, Raise a Tax!

MADISON – With government spending and debt increasing at an accelerating pace and the nation’s unemployment over 10%, Wisconsin Congressman David Obey is suggesting a new tax in an attempt to stymie progress in Afghanistan.

“Not surprisingly, the first solution from Dave Obey is a tax,” said Mark Jefferson, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Wisconsin. “If you’re Dave Obey, why bother working to root out stimulus spending errors or even trim down wasteful government spending when you can just tax your way to paying for whatever you need–even if it’s to keep our nation safe from terrorists.”

Obey told media outlets earlier this week he would pay for increased troop levels in Afghanistan with a $900 billion new tax on “people who can afford it.”

Jefferson suggested Obey may be echoing the strategy of White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel who said earlier this year, “You never want to waste a good crisis.”

“Most Americans want to see the situation in Afghanistan resolved the way our generals have suggested. Instead, Obey has turned the situation into one more excuse to tax,” Jefferson said.

The video posted below is not only an indictment of the current administration, but further exemplifies how politicians get away with some of the outlandish promises they make while campaigning.

PostHeaderIcon Solving Whose Problem?

Posted by Thomas Sowell, November 24, 2009

No one will really understand politics until they understand that politicians are not trying to solve our problems. They are trying to solve their own problems– of which getting elected and re-elected are number one and number two. Whatever is number three is far behind.

Many of the things the government does that may seem stupid are not stupid at all, from the standpoint of the elected officials or bureaucrats who do these things. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Stimulus Fraud

Investors Business Daily, Posted 11/17/2009 07:49 PM ET

The Economy: We knew something was funny when the White House claimed that 640,000 to 1 million jobs had been created from this year’s stimulus. What we didn’t know was that it would turn into a massive fraud.

Not only have 640,000 new jobs not been created from the stimulus — an absurd claim, given the economy’s loss of nearly 4 million payroll positions this year — but it now seems that even the jobs themselves are fictional. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Wisconsin’s Heritage of Hunting

Posted by Rep Kevin Petersen, November 20, 2009

Wisconsin’s hunting heritage has been handed down from parents to children for generations.  This session, I voted to establish a hunting mentorship program. The program allows 10 and 11 year olds to hunt with a qualified adult mentor.

PostHeaderIcon Obama’s Doubletalk On Political Dissent

Posted by Michelle Malkin, November 18, 2009

President Obama traveled all the way to China to praise the free flow of information. It’s the only safe place he could do so without getting heckled. With a straight face, Obama lauded political dissent and told Chinese students he welcomed unfettered criticism in America. Fierce opposition, he said, made him “a better leader because it forces me to hear opinions that I don’t want to hear.” How do you say “You lie!” in Mandarin?

While the kowtower-in-chief’s press shop feeds paeans to free speech into Obama’s globetrotting teleprompter, the White House is still waging war on vocal foes at home. Obama has lectured his critics in Washington to stop talking and “get out of the way.” He has stacked his carefully staged town halls with partisan stooges and campaign plants throughout the year. The president recently derided limited-government activists in the Tea Party movement with a vulgar sexual term used by left-wing cable host Anderson Cooper on CNN and the MSNBC smear merchants (just Google “teabagging” and you’ll see what they mean). PostHeaderIcon Painting A Bull’s Eye On New York City

Posted by Dick Morris, November 16, 2009    Editor’s Note: - This column was written with Eileen McGann.

President Obama’s decision to put Khalid Sheikh Mohammed on trial in New York City along with four others accused of helping destroy the World Trade Center and attack the Pentagon on 9-11 paints a bulls-eye for terrorists right on New York City, their favorite target. Now Obama has identified where the terrorists should focus their energies - on New York City. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon These 10 states may be closest to financial collapse

Posted by Matthew Scott, Nov 11th 2009 at 1:00

When California Treasurer Bill Lockyer sought a $7 billion federal loan guarantee from Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner in May, it was a clear indication that states, and not just financial institutions, were struggling mightily to find firm fiscal footing in the face of the Great Recession.

As states continue to grapple with the current harsh economic conditions, the Pew Center on the States has compiled a list of the 10 that are closest to financial collapse, part of a report on the budgetary health of all 50 states. The report warns of potentially damaging consequences if states fail to take decisive measures to fix their money woes. Read the rest of this entry »

PostHeaderIcon Ft. Hood Attack Was Terrorism

In his nationally televised remarks following the horrendous killings at Ft. Hood, President Obama never mentioned the T word. The attack was an act “of violence.” No mention of terrorism.

In fact, the Ft. Hood shooting is the first terror attack on American soil since 9-11. But Obama, reluctant to take the rap for inadequate protections against such attacks, is doing everything he can to make it look like an adult version of the Columbine school shootings. We are treated to stories about the killer’s dread of being sent back to Afghanistan and his deformed personality.

But, the fact is that Major Nidal Malik Hasan jumped on a table, yelled “Alah Hu Akhbar” and began the shooting rampage that killed 13 people and wounded 30 more. Read the rest of this entry »
